HPR is a hybrid relay combined with traditional mechanical contactor and latest thyristor-controlled technology. The reason to develop HPR is an idea for green energy. Traditional electro-magnetic contactors present many non-green defects such as noise, higher power loss, deteriorated main contacts due to making inrush current and opening arc voltage, therefore resulting in malfunction, life shortening and lost control function that are important to many users.

Theory of Operation
Thyristor control system senses and monitors real-time voltage V1-V2 across the mechanical contacts K1, thyristor TR1 will be initiated to by-pass K1 contact while the voltage V1-V2 is being changed from zero(0) to 1V (to open contact K1) or from 250V(450V) to near zero voltage (to close contact K1).
